| Tennessee boasts a wide variety of charter aircraft, from small pistons up through large private jets and airliners. Most are based, expectedly, in the Nashville and Memphis areas, however 10 airports across the state have aircraft for charter, which is proportionally a good number for Tennessee's size compared to most states. The state has a relatively large number of piston aircraft for charter, 12 in total, compared to the low single digits for light, midsize and large private jets. Tennessee also has larger capacity airliners for charter, seating from 12 to 30 passengers. Hourly charter rate listings range from $595 for small charter aircraft to $5,800 for the Gulfstream IV-SP large cabin jet. Round trip, one-way and empty leg charters area available depending on the operator and their aircraft availability. The charter operators throughout Tennessee in general are reputable and long term operators. Many have high ratings from independent safety auditors.
